Looking at this technique along with blackwork in class - seems to fit in with our work on line. The technique is supposedly Mountmellick. But the way I have (and the rest of the class) have been developing it is somewhat less traditional - the main similarities are in the stitches used (although opinons seems to differ in books and on the web) and the fact that it is stitched on a white background and in white threads. Although due to my latest knitting project it has little red tufts in it.......

Blackwork - final ever piece!!

Wretched blackwork piece adapted from collage which was "inspired" by my secondary source. Glad the blackwork is all over - it takes AGES to do and it is not my cup of tea......
