Purple and metallic ink on photocopy of newspaper collage. This paper still gives me shivers - it coincided with the blackwork period of the City and Guilds course. Whilst I appreciate the skill, patience and workmanship that goes in to such stitching, you won't find me doing it ever again.

Blue Chair : Stamp #8

After playing with African fabric motifs for my first week of stamps I have turned my eye to another theme. Recently I noticed CheshireCheese collaborating on "Today's title is...." and one of the themes was blue chair. By a happy coincidence my kitchen chairs are blue (we painted them that way after we bought a slightly paint splatered set of 4 chairs in Southsea many years back).

I thought the shape would make an interesting stamp:

Looking at this object, something that I pass by, sit on, stand on and generally take for granted, has encouraged me to take a look at other objects in my house and ideas for this week's stamps are already forming:
